Kentucky Voices for Health Encouraged by Launch of "Enroll America"

Kentucky Voices for Health (KVH) is excited about the launch of Enroll America on Wednesday, September 14. This new national organization is a collaboration among key, diverse health stakeholder groups -- major companies and organizations in the hospital, insurance, and pharmaceutical industries as well as leading national organizations representing physicians, community health centers, free clinics, health care consumers, and people with major illnesses and disabilities -- that will work to ensure the enrollment of tens of millions of uninsured Americans who will become eligible for new health coverage under the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

“KVH looks forward to working with Enroll America on a local level in Kentucky to learn from best practices and to streamline enrollment and make renewal easier,” stated Jodi Mitchell, Executive Director of Kentucky Voices for Health.  “Enrollment is the first step to ensuring access and Kentucky Voices for Health will engage with Enroll America to increase access to health care for thousands in the Commonwealth who do not currently have it.”

Kentucky Voices for Health is a coalition of more than 250 health care organizations and individuals working to build a healthier Kentucky. One of the coalition’s core priorities is ensuring that all Kentuckians have access to high quality and affordable health care.  Kentucky Voices for Health looks forward to working with Enroll America to help ensure the best enrollment practices are implemented for all eligible Kentuckians.

Enroll America has been created for a singular purpose: to ensure the enrollment of tens of millions of uninsured people who will become eligible for new health coverage in 2014 under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Although the numerous Enroll America partner groups have differing views about the ACA, they will work together -- through nationwide advertising and state-by-state promotion of best enrollment practices -- to ensure that optimal health coverage enrollment is achieved.

We’re a coalition of concerned Kentuckians who believe that the best health care solutions are found when everyone works together to build them.  Right now, families and businesses in every county are facing rising costs, and too many of us go without needed health care.  Healthy families create healthy economies.  And a healthy Kentucky economy is something we all want.  So we’re working step by step to build a healthier Kentucky for our families, our children and our grandchildren.
