KVH In The News

Kentucky Voices for Health was featured this week in news stories highlighting the new health insurance reforms that went into effect this week under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

As of September 23:

·       New health plans will be required to cover preventive services with no co-payment

·       Health insurers prohibited from:

Denying coverage to children with pre-existing conditions

       Placing lifetime limits on coverage

       Dropping coverage due to illness

WEKU public radio and Public News Service Kentucky reported on a news conference held by KVH this week to discuss the importance of these new protections. KVH member Luke Barlowe, Kentucky Liaison for the National Patient Advocacy Foundation, and Dr. Keisa Bennett, a Lexington physician, were featured in both reports.
