State Budget Update
The final state budget was passed on May 28 and concluded the Special Session of the 2010 Kentucky General Assembly.
HB 1 includes two key health wins for Kentuckians:
1. Funding to suspend KCHIP premiums, reducing barriers to keep kids healthy and saving struggling families an additional expense; and
2. Allocations for smoking cessation programs for Kentuckians on Medicaid – which will make residents healthier now and save taxpayer dollars in the long run.
