Priorities: Access

Kentucky Voices for Health works to ensure that all Kentuckians have access to high quality, affordable healthcare. Access to healthcare impacts overall physical and mental health, prevention of disease, quality of life, preventable death and life expectancy.

Our current work in this area includes:

  • Educating and engaging the public in the implementation of federal health reform to ensure that Kentuckians realize the maximum benefits of the law.

  • Ensuring that current levels of Medicaid coverage and services are maintained as federal health reform is implemented.

  • Facilitating consumer involvement in developing health insurance exchanges.

  • Monitoring the impact of Medicaid managed care to assure transparency and consumer input, and to maximize the opportunity for improved quality, access, and health outcomes.
