Priorities: Healthy Kids
Kentucky Voices for Health is committed to improving the health of Kentucky’s children.
Our two main areas of focus, are to:
- Improve outreach, enrollment and retention in health coverage so that all Kentucky children have health care coverage that includes comprehensive physical, mental, dental and vision care.
- Encourage school districts to implement the components of Coordinated School Health.
In Kentucky, an estimated 62,593 children are uninsured, even though they are eligible for KCHIP or Medicaid coverage. Find out how many kids are eligible but uninsured in your county!

Coordinated School Health (CSH) is a framework based on the understanding that a child’s physical, emotional and social health is directly connected to their capacity to learn. The CSH model is implemented at the school level and can be tailored to best meet the needs of the school population.
